Celebrating 10 years supporting foster and adoptive families

MFCAA Chapter Benefits

We are thrilled that your foster and adoptive parent group may be interested in becoming an MFCAA Chapter. While we offer our services to all Missouri foster, adoptive and kinship parents, we simply have no way of providing regular, convenient access for many of our members who live outside of the Kansas City area. Your efforts, as a Chapter of MFCAA, will be greatly valued by us and by the parents and children you serve. We at MFCAA want to help you as much as possible in your service. As an MFCAA Chapter, we are happy to offer you the following benefits and services.

Tax Exemption

  • You will receive our Federal EIN number, to be used on receipts for donors
  • You will receive our Missouri Tax Exempt letter, to be used on all purchases made by your Chapter

Almost all people and organizations donate solely to 501(c)3, tax exempt charities (donations to a registered 501(c)3 are the only donations that can be filed for a tax credit). Getting 501(c)3 status is a lengthy process, and requires that your organization have a rather robust administrative system in place. When we got our 501(c)3 status, MFCAA also requested a Group Exemption, which allows us to add “subordinate” organizations (i.e., Chapters) under our Federal EIN number.

Program Outlines
We will provide you an outline and suggestions, as well as our forms/letters/etc,  for developing programs similar to those currently provided by MFCAA, including

  • Clothes Closet
  • Food Pantry
  • School Supplies
  • Christmas Adopt-A-Family
  • Foster Parent Training
  • Support Groups

Consulting

  • Advocacy-We are happy to help you develop skills needed to provide effective advocacy
  • Training-We are available to meeting with your group, and/or provide training session as needed
  • We are here to answer your questions any time you have them

Insurance
We will add your Chapter to our insurance policy. This policy provides you with 1 million dollars of liability insurance for all things related to the running of your Chapter. In addition, your administration team/committee members will be included in our officers insurance, so that they are also personally covered. Because we already have an insurance policy, your group will save close to 50%.

Please contact Fran@mfcaa.org for more information on becoming an MFCAA Chapter.
