MFCAA Chapter Benefits We are thrilled that your foster and adoptive parent group may be interested in becoming an MFCAA Chapter. While we offer our services to all Missouri foster, adoptive and kinship parents, we simply have no way of providing regular, convenient access for many of our members who live outside of the Kansas City area. Your efforts, as a Chapter of MFCAA, will be greatly valued by us and by the parents and children you serve. We at MFCAA want to help you as much as possible in your service. As an MFCAA Chapter, we are happy to offer you the following benefits and services.
Tax Exemption
Almost all people and organizations donate solely to 501(c)3, tax exempt charities (donations to a registered 501(c)3 are the only donations that can be filed for a tax credit). Getting 501(c)3 status is a lengthy process, and requires that your organization have a rather robust administrative system in place. When we got our 501(c)3 status, MFCAA also requested a Group Exemption, which allows us to add “subordinate” organizations (i.e., Chapters) under our Federal EIN number.
