HOLD YOUR OWN FUNDRAISER
Looking for a group activity? Want to do something good for your community? You can hold your own Fundraiser for MFCAA. Have a bake sale, organize a group garage sale, get per-mile sponsors for your next 5K... and donate the money you raise to MFCAA. If you need brochures or more information, to aid in your fundraiser, let us know. If you hold a fundraiser and send your donation to us, please include a description of your event and the people/organizations involved - we'd love to hear about it

Some generous legal professionals have teamed up to help make your children's dreams come true. We take special request for funding to allow your children to participate in activities such as Little League, piano lessons, or Art classes.

Every year MFCAA has a school supplies drive. We try to provide as many of the required school items your child will need for their specific grade and school district.

Update: Thanks to our many generous donors! We were able to pack backpacks filled with school supplies for close to 500 kids!

FAMILIES: MFCAA coordinates supplementary Christmas gifts for children in foster and adoptive families by pairing the families with community donors. Our respite program is designed to give foster and adoptive parents an occasional break. Because foster and adoptive parents often have 5, 6 or more children in their homes, and at least a couple of the children are likely to have special medical or behavioral needs, it can be difficult to find and afford appropriate childcare. MFCAA has a list of volunteer respite providers who have gone through appropriate training, that we can match to specific childcare needs. This service is provided at no charge to the foster/adoptive parent.

Our Annual Conference is held in October.

MFCAA hosts an annual conference with local and national speakers addressing the most important topics in foster and adoptive care. The conference is a great opportunity for networking and obtaining required hours for your licensing.
The 7th Annual Child Welfare Conference (2009) was held at UMKC, and co-hosted by the UMKC School of Social Work.  This year’s event was also co-sponsored by the Missouri Children’s Division and Cornerstones of Care.  The two day event, held October 21 and 22, provided more than 200 participants with the latest information on child welfare innovations, in an atmosphere that allowed participants to develop and increase partnerships and collaborations among all stakeholders!  Check back soon for participant comments and photos of the event.

Thank you to our Major Conference Donors:
