Christmas Adopt-A-Family Program
Donor Form
THANK YOU for considering adopting one of our families for Christmas. Each family that MFCAA pairs with a donor is making the ultimate commitment to our future by caring for the abused and neglected children of our community. Most of these families have opened every bed in their house in an effort to provide love and stability for their children, and that often creates a financial strain on the family. They greatly appreciate the generosity of people and organizations like you and yours, that help them provide a Merry Christmas for the children in their care.
Please read the following information before filling out the form below.
PLEASE SIGN UP NO LATER THAN NOV. 24. If this is a problem, please let us know and we will work with you to make other arrangements. We request that each donor provide at least two gifts for each child, but the number of items you provide is at your discretion.
We have asked that all gifts requested by our families be reasonably priced ($30 or less).
If you do not have the time or resources to purchase presents, you can sponsor children through monetary donations.
If your organization has enough people, or enough foot traffic, to support an angel tree, we can provide cards with children's names and Christmas requests for you to hang on a tree (with the intention that each child will be adopted by a person/family).
We hope to provide several drop-off locations throughout the KC-metro area, in an effort to make drop-offs as easy as possible for you. If your organization has enough parking lot space for a UHaul truck and a couple of drop-off vehicles, as well as a small lobby/reception area with a table and two chairs, please let us know. If you are willing, we may utilize it during our drop-off times.
Drop-off times are not yet set, but will most likely be the first few days of December.
If you are a family or small organization and only have the resources to adopt a couple of people, that's great, we do have a few families with 2-4 people (1 or 2 parents, and 1 to 3 kids).
If you are a large organization with the resources to adopt more than one family, please fill out a form for each family (for instance, one for a family of 6 and one for a family of 10). Most families are 5-6 people (one or two parents, and 4 or 5 kids), but we do have families of 10+ (and a few of 15+).
We will deliver all items to all families. However, some donors prefer to deliver gifts to their family themselves. We ask all families if they are comfortable meeting the donor. If you want to meet the family, and the family agrees, it is fine to deliver the presents. If the family does not agree, you will not be able to deliver the gifts to them (there are some privacy issues with foster and adopted children that will not allow the family to meet the donor).
We have a special need for donors who are willing to adopt teenagers. If you are willing to adopt teenagers, please make sure to check that box in the form below (you can check more than one box, so you can adopt smaller children in addition to the teenagers).
You are able to request genders and ages for your families, and we will do our best to match your children/family as closely as possible. However, in some cases in may be impossible to match your request exactly (ex: a 9-year old girl and a 4-year old boy... we may not have any families that match that description).
You will be able to request children only, rather than an entire family, if you prefer that option.
You will be matched with a family as quickly as a family that closely matchers your requests signs up. Your family's information will be mailed to you, along with drop-off dates and locations. Please feel free to call with questions (816-350-0215) or email us.
